This suggestion is sort of tongue-in-cheek, but somewhat serious too. As I've tapped out my funds outfitting my heroes I contemplated what I'd have to do in RL if I was as broke as I am in GW... and then donating blood came to mind. So how about a GW Blood Bank where you can donate a pint every week and get 100gp per character.

It doesn't seem like a substantial amount of money to inject into the economy and it would be someplace to send all those beggars in Lion's Arch/Ascalon that are always asking for a hand out. Best of all it could be run by a group of necros that make all kinds of pithy comments about the donator and his/her blood. After donating the character would get the drunken effect for a few minutes unless he/she consumes some sort of sugary item.

Seems like something fun for Halloween.

Even in a magical fantasy setting where the most grievous wounds can be healed in seconds by someone chanting, somehow the idea of syringes and blood typing seems completely out of place...

Doesn't it already? I mean, a single white drop can be worth nearly 100gp. So I'm curious as to why you'd worry about this. Or were you just adding in your two cents?

Sure, millions of gold can come into the economy every week from drops alone. But why add possibly over 100 million more gold a week?

I don't think during the medieval existed blood banks, correct me if i'm wrong, I see this as a very lame excuse to make easy money.

so, they have to find new random ideas to get cash, running people for 2 cents or trading junk worth 100 golds for 110 by spamming outposts.

Okay, I accept defeat. Just one question: would it have been better to give a consumable instead of gold? Maybe something like a candy cane that could remove 15% dp?

I love it. I think its a hilarious idea. And i like the idea of the drunk effect unless you eat a sweet. That would give me a reason to use those sweets that i have had in storage forever (and are probibly moldy by now). Now as for getting cash for it, i can see some disadvantages yes, but its got good potential for a fun start of an idea.
